Many of our current lacrosse players play Winter sports for the school including soccer and basketball which makes our Preseason really more about developing great fundamentals and learning proper spacing while learning basic strategies for effective play. So in the past few years with the success of both our soccer and basketball programs going deep in their own playoffs, we have tried to find teams with that same dilemma. This year that features the teams currently included in the Jamboree.
Some neat headliners for this up and coming season:
*New faces on our varsity staff including Jamie Hanford (Asst Coach, Defensive Coordinator for the PLL's Chaos) and Tony Nugent (FO Coach and former FO specialist for UVA).
*Former W&L attackman, Andrew Barnett and Babson College midfielder, Jeff O'Brien.
*Bill Keating retires as an assistant coach but stays on as our "proof final" statistician as well as someone who reviews and coordinates clips from game film tape for players, both for review and upcoming games.
*Sandy Wolcott returns as our Assistant Coach in Player Investment, and the returns on his ability to connect with our players pay superb dividends!
*Away games at Viera, Jupiter, Ponte Vedra, Benjamin, Pinecrest, Gulliver Prep, Saint Andrew's, Montverde Academy, and Jensen Beach which we must travel and learn to win those tough road games.
*Home games with Martin County, Vero Beach, Saint Thomas Aquinas, IMG Academy, Lake Highland Prep, and Holy Trinity Episcopal.
Our values:
1. We are deep, and we are committed to continuing to develop our entire roster/depth at each position.
2. Grow throughout the season, find out what works best, learn to adjust in-game time situations, and pursue excellence for the playoff run.
