2019 Cameron Phillips, Defense, signs National Letter of Intent

Cameron Phillips helped lead our 2018 SES Boys HS team to a 2018 District 23 Championship.  He earned three game co-captain awards in 2018, guiding our young defensive corp into a cohesive and championship unit.  For his efforts, coaches throughout District 23 named him Second Team All-District 23 Close Defense.   Cam was also voted Most Improved Defense  by his teammates as a senior in 2018.

As a defender for the Pirates, we called upon his "Pioneer" spirit to help his team in many different ways, including facing off, playing long stick midfielder (LSM) and rotating into our close defensemen unit protecting our goalie.  He concluded his season with 1 goal, 33 ground balls, and 17 caused turnovers and 14 face-off wins.

Cameron was an excellent leader on the field, and would do anything positive to help his team be the best it could on any given day.  Often Cameron led both vocally and by being a consistent defensive force with his play on the field.  With Cameron on the field, the Pirates ended 12-6 against one of the strongest schedules in Florida HS Lacrosse last season.

Cameron will journey to Tusculum University, and the Pioneer Men's Lacrosse team.  The Tusculum University has a good Division II Lacrosse program, and literally are a gritty and impressive program that competes with the top teams in Division II.  Cameron will be a great fit at Tusculum, both as a student and an athlete, and will undoubtable look to help his team and his university with the spirit of a Pioneer and the heart of a Pirate, utilizing his skills in multiple facets of the game and wherever needed!
