HS Parents Meeting Notes of Wed. Nov 7, 2018

Good morning HS Lacrosse Parents & Players:

Just a quick recap of the meeting for parents that was held last evening in room 615.

What's New?

1.  QwikCuts- I've been looking for real solutions to several problems with how 'things get done,' within our program.  So QwikCuts help me solve our accuracy in filming, helping the kids make their own tapes for our FieldLevel recruiting website, accuracy for game and season stats, and eliminating student or parents needing to tape the game(s).  Besides our games being professionally filmed this year, they will also be streamed live (8-10 second delay) for people (grandparents, alumni, and friends of Saint Edward's Lacrosse).  Season ticket to the Fan Page where the games are streamed will cost approximately $25.00 for the entire season!  Great deal for those who cannot make the game but want to see the game(s) in almost live times.   

2. MaxOne capability... literally communications (in texts or emails) are accelerated, differentiated and made 'super' easy from cell phone or computer anywhere.  And in an emergency (whether general or player/parent specific), there is no quicker way to get out information to parents/players or coaches, or the administration to let those who need to know what's going on immediately.   No more fumbling around or needing to wait to back to my office/laptop.  The app also helps me help your son or groups of players with specific feedback and the ability to coach them up and provide visual demonstration using links that they can access with their phones.  Much more to come with the use of this app, to help you, to help me and to help your son.

3. Team Shops

#1  closed  (Thanksgiving Delivery)- currently closed and delivery scheduled for prior to Thanksgiving.

#2  currently open 11/6 – 11/20 (for Christmas Delivery)

#3  open Jan 2^nd – Jan. 14^th  (Delivery by Valentine's Day)

4.  Spring 2019 Lacrosse Schedule & Spring Trip

a.  Pine School added to District 23, so I must schedule them.

b.  Spring Trip:  after presenting the schedule and introducing the options open for discussion including eliminating the trip from the schedule, parents (10-12) who attended the meeting agreed that the Spring Trip was something they would like me to continue to move forward with, *including working on a team fund-raising event to help offset the cost of the hotel.  I also identified the trade-off on the Sat/Sun March 30/31 and Sat/Sun April 6/7 being weekends off for our players given the Spring Trip.

* I did not realize that the school doesn't allow for fundraisers for athletic trips, so this idea of using a fundraiser to offset the athlete cost for the Spring trip will not be further explored.
